Rural Award of Excellence
Buy Local Lincoln County was honored with a Rural Award of Excellence for its efforts in Economic Development. Thank you to Rural Development Initiatives for this great recognition.
The Buy Local Lincoln County Association was honored Friday, June 24th, at the Regards to Rural Conference put on by Rural Development Initiatives of Eugene. The BLLCA received a Rural Award for Excellence in the category of Economic Development along with Lake County Renewable Energy Program, out of 18 organizations and community groups throughout the State of Oregon.
The 2011 ‘Rural Awards of Excellence’ honors and builds awareness of the exemplary contributions community groups, organizations, and individuals are making within their communities. Created in 2002 by Rural Development Initiatives, the awards program received over 80 nominations from around Oregon for the 2011 "Rural Awards of Excellence.”
Awards are presented in four categories including; Collaboration, Community Leadership, Economic Development and Youth. Misty Lambrecht, President, Guy Faust, Board Member and Hannah Klausman, Exec. Director, were on hand to accept the award in Corvallis. Caroline Bauman of Lincoln County’s Economic Development Alliance nominated the BLLCA for the award and was also present.
